I use the Orange Vocoder since its inception. But hey, nothing dramatic as we have little reason to open together many instances of this type of software. CPU consumption is not very important but not insignificant either, especially if you use the internal reverb.
PROSONIQ ORANGE VOCODER PLUG IN MAC OS
No malfunction or stability in my Mac Pro, Mac OS 10.6.8 with Digital Performer. Finally, note that the Orange Vocoder can be used in principle as a plugin in a DAW but can also operate in "stand-alone". It is good to know that the presets are offered one hundred names ("robot voice", "80's dark", "Kraftwerk", " talk box" etc.) that can scroll to find a good working basis. But more importantly, we now have the choice of eight modes ("sound modes"), all described in the manual (in English) and which include emulations of vintage analog vocoder twenty four bands quite successful. What's new then? Some details like a real reverb or mode "Phat" which gives a wider stereo, a "passthrough HF" and "voiced / unvoiced detection" with noise generator. As in the original version, there is the mixer, graphic equalizer, the "pseudo-reverb" (which actually plays on the decay and release effect.)

The Orange Vocoder, which is at version 3.40, can modulate one channel with another channel on the stereo, or take the internal synthesizer as "carrier." The synthesizer has two oscillators (ten waveforms or seven samples) with the possibility of pitch modulation and filter with distortion. Installation and Authorization quick and easy.
